Apple should offer replacing the batteries FOC, for customers still experiencing the issues. I believe you call it good customer care and putting your customers first.

I thought everyone knew this? I don't understand why this is news. I noticed this since iPhone 4. It a was super snappy at first. Then the updates started rolling out and it just got worse and worse

just give warning of bad battery that needs to be changed, instead of making iPhones unusable. Buts its apple so they will never give costumers what they want ,,,they give you what they want and they want you to buy iPhone X . so throw away our old iPhone and buy new X.

Tong, i understand if it's slowing down CPU intensive tasks. But opening settings is taking 4 seconds on my iPad mini 2 (A7 processor). With iOS 10, it used to take like 1 second. iOS 7, 8, 9 and 10 were fine. How could its battery become so incompetent immediately after upgrading to 11? Battery life has also gone down significantly. I used to charge the Mini once a week. Now, it's twice a week. I couldn't roll back to 10. And it was frustratingly slow. So I passed it on to my kiddo and bought the A9 iPad 9.7 for myself.

I'm making it a point to upgrade to major iOS versions ASAP so that I can test its battery life and roll back before it's too late.

It’s pretty obvious that they’re slowing down… everyone complains that their older phones don’t get the latest updates but everyone also complains that their phones are too slow… guys it’s impossible to make a phone in 2015 that can even compete with phones in 2017… if you want it to run fast and stay that way keep it on an older os so it’s not too much for it. But what do you want Apple to do? They get complaints all the time that they want the iPhone 5 to have iOS 11.. which is stupid considering it barely runs iOS 10 at this point. It’s too much for the older phones and no one cares. They stand in the corner and criticize Apple but don’t think of any other factors except for “They want money” which their prices are ridiculous but the quality is usually fantastic in my opinion

Now watch android fans start saying this is why iphones suck. What they dont know is….. Physics. You do know this happens to teslas as well. Battery degrades. It happens because of physics. Think before you people comment.

It’s a bad apple me and my friends been talking about this for the longest wondering why the 6S and the six were so slow we always thought that they give me was that they wanted us to upgrade our phones and that’s why they slowed the phones down and I still think it is that they’re just trying to sugarcoat it but they all do it and apples the biggest one there just Mac is they got caught and joyed they just stop providing software for the older phones which meaning Sampson and motor them they let you know that you should buy nor phone but Apple trying to hide it did just trying to make more money they slower phones down they know we’re going to what faster speeds so they know we’re going to have to upgrade to the 10 or the eight gimmicks🤦‍♂️🤔

Everyone's giving Apple shit for this but they don't even bother reading why. Apple are trying to prolong the life of your device.

I still believe that apples stupid 3D Touch isn’t really possible because of a pressure sensitive screen. What I think happens is that apples screens senses that you’ve pressed down harder on your phone, therefore more of your finger is touching the screen and it acts as if it’s sensing pressure. It’s all a lie and it’s just programmed to vibrate when more of your finger is covering the screen. Someone should look into this. Get back to me when you find out apple just makes great power points and keynotes.

This is really bad Apple, they should be more clear in their stance and this is highly unethical of them, Tim should apologise publicly, I don’t dig this explanation at all, as I have experienced this whole thing personally and was very frustrated as I depend on my iPhone. I’m very angry on this, while still give apple time to correct it’s self.

All of the major phone companies do this!
It does make perfect sense though as newer phones demand a lot of power and older depleted batteries can't keep up.
The solution is easy though. When you notice your phone slowing down after 1 or 2 years, just replace the battery. They're pretty cheap and you can replace it yourself using basic tools and watching a youtube video or two.
Apple are assholes for sure, but they are no different to every other phone manufacturer.

Honestly, if you know anything about LiPO batteries then you know that apple did something good. It also happens that they didn't tell anybody to simply replace the batteries, instead making the customer think they need a new phone
