One thing Apple have shown over the past few years is, it doesn't matter if they are late to the game. As long as they do a good job, they often win over the market. Look at the Apple Watch and AirPods.

Augmented reality on iPhone could be game changer changing way you use your smartphone. It bigger than touchscreen on original iPhone that was revolutionary. It could be next revolutionary since touchscreen. That would be crazy. Apple need to improve 3D Touch that didn't catch on I did use it but sometimes I forget it there. 3D Touch wasn't ready yet Apple should of come out with another new feature for iPhone 6S beside 3D Touch. Apple said it next generation of multitouch but at least they were thinking about what comes after multitouch cause some companies think screen less don't have touch the screen think Samsung remember.

Apple Next big thing Augmented reality could be bigger than iPhone smartphones. iPhone and smartphones not going be around forever. Apple need it next big product. It been 10 years now since iPhone change everything World now augmented reality could do same thing. I can't wait for Apple AR Glasses they will be first to release public unlike Microsoft hololens that not available to public. Apple making sure it Glasses don't end up like Google Glasses. Apple will probably release Augmented Reality on iPhone than later Glasses.

Virtual reality is getting pretty good already. I think augmented reality still needs another 5+ years. I doubt Apple is coming up with anything revolutionary in this field anytime soon.

Do those CNET people understand what they are talking about? Please do a bit more homework. Don't just go copy & paste and put news/rumors elsewhere to your shows

Apple is always "late to the game", not a bad thing tho because they take their time to perfect their products
